About The Position

The Center for Resource Sustainability is seeking a Director of Program/Project Operations or Senior Director of Program/Project Operations. This role involves managing budgets, organizing meetings, and overseeing staff within the center. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing NSF budget requests, managing collaborations, and ensuring compliance with NSF policies. The position also includes maintaining the center's online presence and recruiting new graduate students and postdocs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary (Director level)
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary (Senior Director level)

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a multi-university National Science Foundation Center
  • Experience with subawards and industrial collaborations

Responsibilities

  • Develops NSF budget annual requests and industry collaboration budgets
  • Manages NSF Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry budget and budgets for industry collaborations
  • Organizes the writing, editing, and submission of the annual and final NSF reports
  • Organizes annual all hands meetings, annual external advisory board meetings, and weekly science meetings
  • Manages the outreach coordinator and other staff of the center
  • Attends monthly meeting with NSF program managers and presents monthly updates to NSF
  • Collect and maintain success metric data
  • Maintains the website and other activities to recruit new graduate students and postdocs to the center
  • Ensures all team members are following the data management plan and NSF policies
  • Organize NSF program reviews
  • Coordinate and manage >10 subawards including the subaward for external evaluation
  • Coordinate and manage industrial contracts with industrial collaborators of the center
  • Maintains center social media presence
