About The Position

The Director, Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing all manufacturing and distribution operations across assigned facilities. This role involves guiding multiple managers in various functions such as manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and human resources to ensure efficient and safe production of high-quality products while adhering to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years' experience in a manufacturing management role within the food or beverage industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or manufacturing; MBA preferred.
  • Previous Plant Management experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and government regulations.
  • Experience with writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain financial spreadsheets.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees ongoing performance efficiency of all plant functions through the establishment and monitoring of various organizational goals.
  • Completes all assigned key corporate projects, initiatives, and production targets with high quality and accuracy within budget and timeframes.
  • Partners with Finance to develop ongoing worksite budgets and manage resources to control costs and optimize profitability.
  • Oversees all aspects of co-pack facilities including contractual negotiation processes.
  • Provides support in managing product quality and ensures compliance with quality and sanitation policies, including HACCP and GMPs.
  • Continuously evaluates manufacturing capabilities and recommends future capital expenditures for growth.
  • Leads development and execution of safety initiatives and customized action plans for Food Safety and Quality emergencies.
  • Provides support in employee performance development and ensures timely deployment of training materials.
  • Addresses performance issues and ensures adherence to company policies.
  • Reports food safety and quality issues and initiates action.
  • Acts as backup to various plant management personnel as needed.
  • Leads the crisis management team responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Provides training and guidance to other plant team members.
  • Ensures compliance with FDA, OSHA, and local regulatory agencies.
