About The Position

The Director of Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and delivery of products within the Biosciences Division. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM or related area of study preferred.
  • 7-10 years of career progression in a high-velocity manufacturing business.
  • Previous experience as a Site Leader.
  • Experience in running project-based operations.
  • Outstanding people leadership skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Integrity and transparency in all dealings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful manufacturing and delivery of BID, CSD, and GSD products.
  • Oversee overall operations responsibility for the BID Cell Bio site in Carlsbad, CA.
  • Manage the Operations function and share responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, PPI, Supply Chain, and Distribution.
  • Work closely with the commercial operations team to align operational activities with business goals.
  • Ensure high-quality product delivery to customers in a responsive and efficient manner.
  • Develop and lead an operational strategy aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Plan and direct operational activities to achieve business targets in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Champion the implementation of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and Lean Enterprise initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive reputation with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Report site performance metrics to company partners.
  • Manage site health, safety, quality, regulatory, and environmental compliance.
