About The Position

The Director, Operations - USL W League is responsible for leading operational responsibilities for the league and its member clubs, focusing on using women's soccer as a force for societal good. This role involves managing extensive processes, fostering internal collaboration, and developing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure operational excellence and support the league's mission of increasing opportunity, gender equity, and career development in women's soccer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sport management, business administration, or similar field.
  • 4-6 years of league/club operations or sport management experience, preferably in soccer.
  • Previous experience managing team members or direct reports.
  • Experience in customer service or client success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work duties for W League operations team members.
  • Perform annual review process in collaboration with the Vice President for direct reports.
  • Manage internal collaboration across departments for W League activities.
  • Lead the USL W League Work Experience Program, overseeing task dissemination and training for seasonal interns.
  • Forge strong relationships with member club leadership and primary contacts.
  • Liaise with club administrators on league operations issues.
  • Assist in the integration and onboarding of new franchises into the league.
  • Provide customer service and maintain positive relationships with clubs.
  • Assist USL communications staff with external relationships such as media partners and organizations supporting the League.
  • Assist in league scheduling and schedule change processes.
  • Develop operations initiatives including game day operations and facility management.
  • Oversee league discipline for players and coaches, ensuring compliance with minimum standards.
  • Coordinate referee assignments through the US Soccer management portal.
  • Develop standard procedures for common occurrences.
  • Assist with player registration and pre-season league development initiatives.
  • Ensure league deliverables are sent and received by clubs.
  • Coordinate and manage league events.
