About The Position
In the role of Director, Operations Technology at BAE Systems, you will be at the forefront of innovation within the aerospace and defense industry. This position is pivotal in connecting the FAST Labs™ program personnel with business area production experts, ensuring that the collaboration agreements around manufacturing readiness are robust and effective. You will be responsible for conducting internal Manufacturing Readiness Assessments throughout the lifecycle of collaboration agreements, which is crucial for maintaining high standards in production readiness. Your expertise will also be instrumental in developing the Microelectronics product line, facilitating the transition from science to development and ultimately to production. You will work closely with various resources to establish assembly flow processes that are capable of providing yield and manufacturing capability indices on integrated chip technologies. Identifying critical gaps in assembly steps between business area capabilities and FAST Labs™ prototypes will be a key responsibility, as this data is essential for planning engineering and manufacturing development programs. Additionally, you will develop producibility roadmaps for Operations, recommending external alternatives and leading technologies for the next 2-5 years. Your role will also involve supporting future capture activities for FAST Labs, ensuring that technology producibility tasks are adequately funded and supported. This position requires a strong independent work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization, including executive leadership. You will need to manage risks effectively and be comfortable working outside formal reporting structures to achieve results. A DoD Secret clearance is required for this role, and the ability to achieve a Top Secret clearance is preferred.
