We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our SMG Franchise Team! The Director of Operations – SMG Franchise will provide input into the strategic direction of the Division, including (a) monitoring industry trends and related operational implications, (b) overseeing day-to-day operations of the Division, (c) acting as the primary resource for business decisions that arise in the daily transactional workflow, and (d) supporting the execution of Business Unit and Divisional strategic initiatives. This role will continuously evolve to support the needs of the Business Unit, the Division, and its customers.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: Required: Three (3) years of finance industry experience
  • Skills and Abilities Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of Division strategic objectives and growth strategies, with a primary focus on how operations support evolving programs, customer expansion, and national account growth.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Division’s industries of focus, customer base, key relationships, and programs, including current trends, emerging technologies, and evolving products; strengthen customer knowledge through periodic travel and engagement.
  • Provide strong leadership to the Division by positively impacting team morale, driving achievement of divisional goals, delivering mentorship and coaching, and overseeing performance management and day to day leadership activities.
  • Foster a customer centric culture within the operations team, ensuring consistent delivery of the GreatAmerica Experience and differentiation in the marketplace.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by sharing and executing best practices, reviewing policies and procedures, and driving process and operational enhancements that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase value to customers.
  • Oversee daily operational execution by monitoring key transactional items (e.g., prefunds, follow up logs, commitment deposits) and resolving escalated or complex operational issues and exception requests.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leaders, Financial Analysts, Legal, and other Functional Leaders to define, approve, and support customer, OEM, and national account programs in alignment with risk tolerance, profitability expectations, and divisional priorities.
  • Monitor customer and portfolio performance in partnership with Functional Leaders, ensuring alignment with Business Unit goals and key performance indicators (e.g., volume, application counts, delinquency, renewals, realized residuals, CSEs), and make recommendations for change when appropriate.
  • In conjunction with the Leadership Team, ensure appropriate staffing levels, recruiting efforts, functional development, and delegation of authority; continuously develop and empower the team to increase self-management capability.
  • Provide timely feedback, formal performance reviews, and developmental coaching; proactively address performance or conduct issues in a consistent and timely manner in accordance with the Team Member Improvement Process (TMIP).
  • Participate in budgeting for the team and ensure ongoing budget accountability and adherence; provide periodic updates on team performance and development to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate, onboard, and monitor syndication programs and relationships in partnership with the Director, Equipment Financing Syndication.
  • Manage timecards and time off requests for nonexempt employees through Workday, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance.
