Director of Operations- NICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital This business leader will be responsible for the operations, financial performance, and people management/leadership of the 154 bed NICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital. The ideal leader will have experience working in a complex hospital environment overseeing the operations of service lines. This successful leader will be experienced in leading teams through change, problem solving, managing a budget, collaborating well with others and setting a solid strategy for the NICU. Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Directs and manages overall operations of assigned areas, setting strategic direction in alignment with system, and ensuring necessary resources are in place to support the departments’ goals. Develops meaningful relationships with WUSM and BJC partners.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the department(s), develops a plan, gains buy in from team members and faculty, and executes plan monitoring for success and sustainability.
  • Strongly focuses on employee engagement and patient experience, constantly monitoring both and developing plans to improve and maintain.
  • Manages the equipment fleet, including timely replacements, repairs and maintenance, in partnership with Clinical Asset Management.
  • Leads the planning and execution of expansion plans on and off campus.
