The Director of Operations at GNC is responsible for leading the 24/7 operations of a multi-channel distribution center, ensuring that key performance objectives related to safety, cost-effectiveness, productivity, and customer service are met or exceeded. This role involves managing cross-functional activities to optimize service delivery while continuously seeking innovative methods to improve operations and reduce costs. The Director will also oversee the development and implementation of operational plans and controls to enhance the efficiency of the distribution center.

  • Develop a world-class, team-oriented distribution operation that provides optimum service at the lowest cost.
  • Provide monthly feedback and conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports, identifying areas for improvement and training needs.
  • Establish feasible and attainable goals (KPIs) for the distribution center operation.
  • Develop and manage financial and operational plans for the distribution center based on established objectives and goals.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and damage-free delivery of all merchandise.
  • Maintain appropriate customer service levels within a multi-channel environment.
  • Implement controls and procedures to minimize inventory loss at the distribution center.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in conjunction with the Safety Department.
  • Operate within established corporate standards and guidelines, including Human Resources Policies and Quality Control Standards.
  • Minimum of 10 years distribution/logistics management experience in a high-volume multi-channel distribution center or manufacturing operation.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering, logistics, or business management; Master's preferred.
  • Experience in an automated waved based multi-channel distribution center is preferred.
  • Tier one WMS/WCS experience (Red Prairie, Manhattan) preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and empower employees.
  • Strong analytical skills in forecasting, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Ability to develop strategic and tactical plans to achieve results.
  • Experience in a high-volume automated distribution center.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
