About The Position

Yardi Scholars is a premier four-year program designed to transform highly motivated students into global business leaders. The program will support a cohort of high-achieving, first-generation students through scholarships, enhanced programming, and professional development opportunities. The Director provides leadership and administrative oversight for the Yardi Scholars Program to achieve the program’s mission and priorities. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for University Honors Programs, the Director serves as the primary contact for Yardi Scholars on campus, and will be responsible for managing the administrative and student needs of the program. Main areas of program management include industry partnerships and engagement; academic advising and student success; budget and scholarship management; assessment and reporting; campus events and programming; and alumni affairs and advancement. The Director teaches a first-year seminar and oversees experiential learning for the program. The Director interacts productively and collaboratively with the College of Business and within the University Honors Programs team and possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
  • Four (4) years of full-time related administrative experience in an educational setting at the secondary level or above.
  • Experience with program management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and demonstrate a commitment to advancing and achieving the program’s mission and priorities.
  • Manage the program’s administrative operations to include budget and scholarships; events and programming; assessment; alumni affairs and fund-raising; and communications.
  • Coordinate with the College of Business, Financial Aid, Admissions, Student Affairs, the Career Center, Advancement, and other units to ensure that all aspects of the partnership are aligned and successful.
  • Collaborate with the College of Business and Admissions on Yardi recruitment activities and student selection.
  • Track scholarship recipient progress and report to campus partners.
  • Collect and manage cohort data, and prepare annual reports.
  • Assess student retention and satisfaction in the program.
  • Expand and leverage industry networking and partnerships to support student career outcomes and build the Yardi brand.
  • Oversee, or delegate oversight of, student assistants and student committees.
  • Oversee program website and social media, and collaborate on marketing and communications.
  • Stay current on best practices and the professional literature on business honors education.
  • Cultivate Yardi Scholars community / identity and develop programming in collaboration with the College of Business, University Honors Programs, Student Life, the Career Center, and other campus partners.
  • Coordinate signature programming to support scholarship recipients from recruitment through graduation, including career development and networking activities, field trips to New York City financial institutions or major corporations, and advanced career and graduate school planning.
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry professionals to identify internship, research, and experiential learning opportunities for business-minded scholars.
  • Develop and / or organize co-curricular events, New York City cultural experiences and campuswide outreach in partnership with the College of Business, Student Affairs, and Admissions, including the Business Success Academy, pre-Welcome Week experience for Yardi Scholars.
  • Support the coordination of the Global Business Experience, an international business-related immersion program, in partnership with the College of Business and the Office of Global Affairs.
  • Teach a first-year seminar and oversee professional practicum courses, as applicable.
  • Manage academic advising and new student registration for the program, including providing high quality, proactive academic advising in individual and group sessions.
  • Monitor students’ academic progress toward timely degree completion and promote student success and belonging.
  • Track students’ academic standing and fulfillment of program requirements.
  • Monitor enrollment numbers and address retention issues.
  • Proactively support students. Schedule advising appointments and document student progress notes in Navigate.
  • Support division and unit-wide initiatives and projects and assist other units during peak advising times.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned and appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
