About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Warehouse Operations (DWO) to join our dynamic and dedicated team. Working collaboratively as part of a local employee-owned, community minded company that has an outstanding world-wide reputation, you will be responsible for all fulfillment logistics. The DWO is an active member of Tower's Operations team who advocates the needs of the warehouse team, fosters ideas on how to improve systems, efficiencies and decrease shipment errors. The DWO is responsible for all fulfilment logistics and ongoing assessment, review, and update of departmental procedures and processes to produce a high quality, efficient, and cost-effective operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute logistics and efficiency strategies for inventory control, picking/packing, heat-mapping and product bin locations.
  • Implement automation, scanning technology, and warehouse management systems to increase logistics efficiency and picking accuracy.
  • Expand upon current KPI related to productivity, accuracy, labor efficiency, safety, and cost control.
  • Communicate/manage relationships with freight carriers and shipping material providers to secure lowest costs and maintain service levels.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce warehouse health, safety, and OSHA-compliant policies and procedures.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor warehouse managers, supervisors, and team leaders with clear expectations, accountability, and trust.
  • Process oriented approach with good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to attract and retain personnel as well as effectively manage turnover.
  • Analyze warehouse data to better strategize and forecast for cost and hiring needs.
  • Work with Human Resources to plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish productivity and quality goals.
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
  • Ability to effectively handle personnel concerns and develop strategies to support their needs and efforts.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and compliance throughout all warehouse operations.
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor warehouse performance.
  • Communicate warehouse performance, risks, and improvement initiatives clearly and consistently to the Chief Administrative Officer, senior leadership, Managers, Team Leaders and cross-functional partners.
