About The Position

George Fox University's Analytics & Foresight department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated team player to serve as the Director of University Resources. About the Job: This role will report to the Executive Director of Analytics & Data and serve as an individual contributor responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing the University's operating budget. Success in this role will require close collaboration with stakeholders across the University to communicate, research, and resolve budget-related issues, while building a strong understanding of the relationship between the budget, actual and projected financial performance, and the University's strategic objectives. This role requires a balance of strong interpersonal skills and technical expertise. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ownership of the annual budget cycle involving the accurate gathering and recording of budget inputs from departments for consolidation and aggregation. Identifying and communicating spending versus the budget throughout the year, flagging and communicating variances to all levels of the organization. Developing and administering tools which enable budget managers to own and understand their respective budgets and adequately plan their financial needs and wants. Delivering presentations, reports, and analysis for consumption by the George Fox University Board of Trustees, the President's Operations Team, the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Director of Analytics & Data, and other parties as needed. Automating, monitoring, and/or executing tasks specific to the budget that belong to budget dependent business processes, such as personnel changes in collaboration with the Office of People & Culture. Collaborating in the design and continuous improvement of business processes which have dependencies rooted in the budget. Communicating potential improvements to the University's Chart of Accounts for the purposes of organizing and categorizing budgeting and spending, in collaboration with General Ledger accountants. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Report building or analytics experience.
  • Previous experience utilizing a "systems"/holistic approach to identify and realize both technical and business opportunities and use logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • A tenacious, iterative-mentality that drives continuous improvement and limits wasted effort and a consistent and rigorous approach brought to daily activities and assigned priorities.
  • Integrity & discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Vena and/or PeopleSoft.
  • Demonstrated technical ability utilizing tools like Excel, GoogleSheets, SQL, scripting languages, dimensional cube applications (Vena, Hyperion), and data visualizations (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
