The Director of Technology Infrastructure provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on management of FCNL’s technology environment. This role ensures that all systems, hardware, software, and data are secure, reliable, and aligned with FCNL’s mission, operational needs, and compliance requirements. The Director leads IT planning, cybersecurity, PCI compliance, infrastructure improvements, and end-user support while managing vendor relationships and guiding long-term technology strategy. This position balances high-level planning with day-to-day operational responsibilities, working closely with Finance, HR, Communications, Development, and Program staff.

  • Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, capital replacement plans, and technology forecasting.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of networks, servers, cloud systems, and business applications.
  • Maintain strong documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and inventory.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, including threat prevention, detection, response, and staff training.
  • Supervise and perform IT support functions, ensuring timely and high-quality support for all staff including training on software and systems.
  • Oversee staff onboarding/offboarding processes, user accounts, credentials, and device setups.
  • Partner with department leaders to improve workflows through technology.
  • Identify, engage and manage FCNL’s IT vendors and consultants.
  • Coordinate system integrations and ensure data accuracy between platforms.
  • Manage the FCNL IT consultant’s work on special projects and help desk support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including hands-on systems administration and infrastructure management.
  • 3+ years in an IT leadership, management, or senior technical role.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity best practices, proactive risk management, data security and compliance (including PCI or similar frameworks).
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to problem-solve and prioritize
  • Experience overseeing networks, cloud platforms (M365/Teams/SharePoint), endpoint security, and device lifecycle management.
  • Project management skills that demonstrate the ability to carry projects through to completion.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manager internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Vendor negotiation and contract management experience.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment that reflects the Quaker faith and practice, especially its testimonies of peace, equality, simplicity, and truth; and working within the Quaker process of FCNL.

  • Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, higher-ed, or mission-driven environments.
  • Experience supervising staff or managing outsourced IT providers.
  • Experience with donor/donation platforms, CRM systems, or financial/HRIS integration
  • Relevant certifications (CISM, CompTIA Security+, PMP, CISSP, Microsoft certifications
