About The Position

Regional responsibility to successfully establish and maintain close co-operation/alignment between the technology and business organizations to develop, deliver and manage technology objectives and business plans consistent with the overall global business strategy and delivering and enabling key priorities and objectives for the Americas.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of senior IT management and business/industry work experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multiple, cross geography projects and support environments.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a technical project management role, specifically in transitioning to a centralized system and support model for back-office services.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in managing and coordinating individuals from different disciplines and teams in a combined effort to achieve project success.
  • Sound knowledge in a broad range of infrastructure technologies (E.g. Networking, Directory, Messaging, Windows Server environments) and user support services is essential.

  • Experience within Production Technology or relatable fields a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all facets of planning, operation and delivery of production & infrastructure technology services to all entities of the WPP Production within the North and Latin American regions.
  • Has overall responsibility for the delivery of Technology services to the region in an efficient, effective, reliable and secure manner including Production.
  • Manage the regional Technology team including Production Technology Specialists.
  • Develop Technology related objectives and Business plans consistent with overall regional business strategy.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of core regional challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and manage business executive relationships to help facilitate the successful deployment of Technology initiatives, standards and procedures for Production.
  • Improve the competitive position of the region through the use of Technology.
  • Drive internal business change and improvement through the use of business process improvement, particularly those enabled by technology.
  • Assist the regional business units in articulating requirements and valuing investments.
  • Oversee implementation of investments to ensure realization of business benefit.
  • Establish regional business unit consortiums, leveraging common processes and systems.
  • Explain Technology spending and regional business unit allocations (discretionary & non-discretionary).
  • Responsible for managing & coordinating regional Technology OpEx & CapEx budgets.
  • Be the primary interface between the business units and WPP IT, specifically Infrastructure, Desktop & Finance/HR services.
  • Contribute and implement regional technology architecture guidelines and standards, including Business Continuity Planning for the region.
  • Study and acquire new technology to enhance business performance.
  • Provide regular status updates and status reports to management.
  • Understand application development tools, methodologies/processes and related metrics.
  • Lead technical review meetings to identify and resolve issues.
  • Identify and quantify business value of IT investments and impacts on finances/budgeting.
  • Develop creative solutions to address business problems.
  • Serve a lead role in the Strategic Planning process by understanding the positioning of the business within the marketplace, particularly customer needs and the competitive environment.
  • Define project work elements/tasks, sequencing/scheduling, resource management, communication, risk management, etc.
  • Provide vendor management skills through regional understanding of local vendor offerings/capabilities and apply vendor solutions to address business issues.
  • Align with Information Security teams to ensure Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), security incidents, and cybersecurity posture and compliance standards are addressed and maintained.
  • Work with EMEA and APAC Regional Technical Directors to ensure alignment on Technical Strategy.
  • Develop technical onboarding and migration plans for new teams and business units (MandA)
