The Director of Technical Sales will direct and align quality groups, engineering activities, and continuous improvement for adoption of best practices supporting manufacturing operations. Identify, prioritize, resource, and execute critical operational initiatives focused on improved performance across Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Equipment Reliability and Uptime, Quality, On Time Delivery, and overall leadership & teamwork across Sierra’s Manufacturing Business Units. Lead the technical team in executing projects that meet the strategic business and operational needs, according to deadlines and within resource constraints. Work closely with Executive and Site Leadership within the Sierra’s Business Units to ensure efficient planning and successful execution of all initiatives. Less than 20% of international and domestic travel required.

  • Identify, prioritize, resource, and execute critical operational initiatives focused on improved performance across Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Equipment Reliability and Uptime, Quality, On Time Delivery, and overall leadership & teamwork across Sierra’s Manufacturing Business Units.
  • Lead the technical team in executing projects that meet the strategic business and operational needs, according to deadlines and within resource constraints.
  • Work closely with Executive and Site Leadership within the Sierra’s Business Units to ensure efficient planning and successful execution of all initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s in Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 10 years of experience in the job offered or a related role
  • Practical and theoretical experience with Lean Implementation
  • Black Belt Six Sigma Certification
  • Theoretical & practical experience with the Kaizen Methodology
  • Problem solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgement
  • Ability to understand and communicate to the business in a clear, coherent and organized manner to all levels of the organization
  • Organizational and planning skills and attention to detail with high standards for quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Quality & engineering core tools implementation experience like SPC, FMEA, A3, 8D, DMAIC, and Control Plan
  • Change management knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Driver’s license
  • Flexibility to travel extensively in the U.S.
