Director of Systems Engineering
About The Position
We are seeking a strategic and experienced technology leader to join a global technology organization driving innovation at scale. This role plays a key part in shaping engineering strategy, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering world-class solutions that power critical infrastructure and products. As Director of Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for setting the technical vision, leading engineering execution, and influencing cross-organizational decisions that impact product reliability, performance, and scalability. Your leadership will ensure that engineering efforts align with business goals and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technology leadership.
- 5+ years in senior leadership, program management, or director-level roles driving complex technical outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and scale engineering practices.
- Strong communicator with proven experience influencing stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or large-scale product delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering organization to deliver high-impact technical solutions.
- Define and implement technical strategy and architecture for systems and solutions across teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering leads, and senior leadership to prioritize initiatives and align roadmaps.
- Drive operational excellence and adoption of engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, observability, cloud performance).
- Manage stakeholder relationships across business units and with external partners.
- Oversee key decisions affecting systems design, deployment standards, and technology investments.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure competitive advantage.
