About The Position
Indorama Ventures is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Sustainability Director at our divisional headquarters in The Woodlands, TX. This pivotal position is integral to advancing Indovinya's global sustainability strategy, which is a core pillar of our business strategy. The Sustainability Director will lead the charge in enhancing and embedding sustainability practices within our operations, ensuring that they align with both internal goals and external stakeholder expectations. This role requires a proactive approach to engage with various stakeholders, providing customer-centric solutions and representing Indovinya as a leader in sustainability initiatives. The Sustainability Director will be responsible for planning and leading the implementation of continuous improvements in sustainability strategies, guidelines, and tools. This includes collaborating with Research and Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to execute the Product Sustainability Strategy effectively. The role also involves providing training and resources to commercial teams to establish Indovinya as a reference point for sustainability in the industry. The director will identify and monitor various sustainability projects, such as energy cogeneration, biomass initiatives, eco-efficiency measures, and social investments, ensuring that customer sustainability requirements are met and deployed effectively. In addition to these responsibilities, the Sustainability Director will participate in industry conferences and maintain current knowledge of sustainability trends and practices. This includes assessing the applicability of sustainability certifications and representing Indovinya in technical committees and trade associations. The director will also define and sustain the governance structure for sustainability, including committees and working groups, and will be accountable for the development and execution of short-, medium-, and long-term sustainability strategies. The role requires a strong focus on risk management, identifying sustainability risks and opportunities for business units, and standardizing sustainability indicators based on recognized models. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing the annual Indovinya Sustainability Report, disclosing sustainability information to various stakeholders, and managing the global sustainability budget. Promoting a culture of sustainability within the organization is essential, as is the development of the sustainability team and ensuring alignment with the objectives of Indorama Ventures. This role is not just about compliance; it’s about driving meaningful change and making a positive impact on the environment and communities in which we operate.
