About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to lead Salamander’s end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution across product development, project deployment, manufacturing, and customer delivery. This role is accountable for building a scalable, resilient, and cost-effective supply chain that supports rapid growth, new product introductions, and global project execution. A central focus of this role is owning the integrated planning process that aligns demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and financial objectives across the business. The Director of Supply Chain will serve as the cross-functional orchestrator between Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Deployment teams. This role will play a critical role in enabling the successful design, manufacture, and deployment of Salamander’s heating technology worldwide.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations leadership roles.
  • Proven leadership of S&OP in a complex manufacturing or project-based environment.
  • Experience with capital equipment, engineered systems, or complex assemblies in industries such as Energy, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen; comfort working with imperfect data in high-growth environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems and planning tools; data-driven decision maker.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership Own and execute Salamander’s end-to-end supply chain strategy across sourcing, procurement, manufacturing planning, logistics, inventory, and deployment support.
  • Build scalable supply chain capabilities to support new product introductions, project-based deployments, and global growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Procurement and Supply Chain team, including direct management of the Procurement Specialist.
  • Establish governance, decision frameworks, and operating rhythms to support cross-functional alignment.
  • Sales & Operations Planning Own and lead the company’s S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, supply plans, production capacity, inventory targets, and financial objectives.
  • Facilitate recurring S&OP meetings with executive and functional leadership, including demand review, supply review, and executive reconciliation.
  • Translate commercial demand signals (Sales, Business Development, Projects) into actionable supply, capacity, and procurement plans.
  • Identify constraints, risks, and tradeoffs across supply, capacity, cost, and service, and drive data-based decisions.
  • Continuously improve S&OP maturity, tools, metrics, and cadence as the business scales.
  • Procurement & Supplier Management Provide strategic leadership for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management, particularly for capital equipment, engineered equipment, and project-based procurement.
  • Oversee make-versus-buy decisions in collaboration with Engineering and Operations.
  • Ensure strong supplier performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Support contract strategy, negotiation, and supplier selection for complex, high-value, and long-lead items.
  • Develop and maintain a robust supplier ecosystem to support innovation, scalability, and resilience.
  • Ensure early supply chain involvement in design decisions, BoM development, sourcing strategies, and cost modeling.
  • Oversee supply chain readiness for product launches and project deployments, including capacity planning, inventory strategy, and supplier qualification.
  • Ensure lessons learned and retrospectives are captured and institutionalized.
  • Manufacturing, Inventory & Logistics Align production planning, inventory strategy, and logistics execution with demand and project requirements.
  • Balance inventory investment with service, lead time, and cost objectives.
  • Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing flow, logistics strategy, and deployment support.
  • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Risk Management & Continuous Improvement Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier, geopolitical, capacity, and logistics risks.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply for critical components and projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cost, service, quality, and working capital.
  • Implement best practices, tools, and metrics to increase supply chain visibility and performance.
