About The Position

The Director of Supply Chain and Demand Planning is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the overall internal and external supply chain strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, and customer delivery commitments. This role oversees procurement, demand planning, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and supplier relationships while ensuring alignment with production, engineering, finance, and sales. The Director of Supply Chain and Demand Planning plays a critical leadership role in scaling operations, optimizing systems and processes, and supporting significant increases in manufacturing output.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, and/or manufacturing operations.
Demonstrated leadership experience at a manager or director level in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience supporting rapid growth and scaling production operations.
Experience with ERP implementations and optimization (SAP, Oracle, or similar systems preferred).
Strong background in inventory management, demand planning, logistics, and supplier management.
Lean manufacturing experience, including Kanban and point-of-use inventory systems.
Experience with data analytics and dashboard tools such as PowerBI
Advanced Excel user with expertise in advanced filtering/sorting, pivot tables, conditional formatting
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an end-to-end supply chain strategy to maximize efficiency, minimize cost, and ensure uninterrupted material flow to support production and customer delivery.
Lead procurement activities including supplier selection, contract negotiation, pricing, and long-term supplier partnerships.
Oversee demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management to balance service levels, working capital, and production needs.
Drive warehouse space optimization initiatives to improve material flow, storage utilization, and picking efficiency and to reduce overall warehouse footprint to allow for increased production operations.
Establish and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs with key suppliers.
Oversee transportation, logistics, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.
Lead ERP system setup, optimization, and continuous improvement efforts in support of supply chain, inventory, and production planning functions.
Design, Implement and Manage a SIOP process
Develop, document, and enforce standard operating processes and procedures (SOPs) across supply chain and logistics functions.
Support major growth in production by scaling supply chain capabilities, supplier capacity, and internal processes.
Implement Lean manufacturing principles, including Kanban systems, point-of-use inventory, and bin stocking strategies.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Program Management to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
Establish and manage a supply chain dashboard to track KPI's such as fill rate, first pass yield on kits, inventory turns and stock outs
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, delivery, inventory turns, service levels, and supplier performance.
Lead, develop, and manage supply chain team members, including managers and supervisors; responsible for hiring, performance management, and development.
Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
