Director of Student Success - School of Medicine The Director of Student Success provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Office of Student Progress within the BYU School of Medicine. This role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive academic support programs for MD students, supervising learning specialists, career advisors, and administrative staff, and ensuring high-quality services that promote student success. The Director will lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, oversee career advising and MSPE preparation, and manage departmental resources to align with institutional goals and LCME accreditation standards. The Director also serves as the administrative leader for the Student Progress Committee (SPC), coordinating its processes and implementing decisions related to student promotion, remediation, probation, suspension, dismissal, and graduation. The position requires a collaborative leader who can integrate academic support into the medical curriculum, analyze student performance data, and develop evidence-based interventions for students at risk. The Director will serve as a key liaison between faculty, students, and external stakeholders, fostering an environment of excellence and innovation in medical education. This position plays a key role in ensuring academic and career advising within the School of Medicine aligns with the school’s mission to “provide a spiritually grounded and scientifically rigorous education for physicians who will minister to God’s children throughout the world as healers, teachers, researchers, leaders, and disciples of Jesus Christ.”
