About The Position

The Wachusett Regional School District is seeking to hire a Director of Student Support to serve as a member of the District’s Executive Team, servicing the district’s 13 schools, grades PK-12+. The WRSD serves approximately 6,750 students in the five towns of Holden, Paxton, Sterling, Rutland, and Princeton. The director of Student Support has extensive knowledge of the laws that govern Civil Rights, PRS, Bullying, 504, and Title IX.

Responsibilities

Serves as the District’s Stability Coordinator, coordinating services for students who require supports under the McKinney-Vento, Foster Care, Migrant Education, or Military Families programs; represents the district at BID meetings
Serves as the district’s Title IX Coordinator
Works in collaboration with the Director of Special Education & Student Services to respond to requests from OCR, PRS, DCF, or other regulatory agencies
Directly oversees the 504 process for students PreK- 12 +
Oversees the district’s bullying prevention efforts
Collaborates with administration and staff to lead the district’s efforts to implement effective PreK-12 SEL curriculum
Provides support and professional development to the district’s school counselors
Keeps abreast of the latest educational research, trends, and developments to make recommendations to administration and staff as appropriate
Oversees homebound instruction
Provides support to building administration around enrollment or residency questions or concerns
Works collaboratively with the District Administrative team on in-district transfers and oversees that process
Manages state and federal grants as appropriate
Oversees Panorama Student Success as well as student SEL and Climate surveys
Serve as District Administration representation at School Committee meetings and subcommittee meetings
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education & Student Services and/or Superintendent
