About The Position

The Director of Strategic Partnerships – Financial Institutions is responsible for recruiting, contracting, and managing relationships with regional and community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions that refer merchant services to Evolv. This is a high-impact role focused on expanding Evolv’s footprint in the financial institution channel—a priority growth vector for the business. The DSP will lead all aspects of the partner lifecycle, from initial outreach through long-term relationship management and performance optimization. This role delivers a compelling solution set for financial institutions to offer their commercial clients including payment processing, ACH tools, dual pricing, accounting services, payroll services, and digital marketing. Together, these offerings create an irresistible bundled package for small businesses, particularly attractive to credit union members and new commercial bank depositors seeking simplified, tech-enabled business services through a trusted partner. Evolv’s business services package—combining payments, payroll, accounting, and marketing—offers a one-stop solution that financial institutions can confidently present to their commercial clients. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in business development or partnership management, with a focus on financial institutions, merchant services, or fintech
  • Demonstrated success signing and scaling bank or credit union referral programs
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience structuring revenue share or residual agreements
  • Familiarity with merchant acquiring, payment processing, payroll systems, and accounting services for small businesses
  • Deep understanding of the commercial banking and credit union environment and banker incentive dynamics
  • Experience managing complex relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficient in CRM systems and partner reporting tools
  • Comfortable working in a results-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to executives and board-level stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft suite; ability to quickly learn new software platforms
  • Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Source and secure new financial institution partners through targeted outreach, relationship development, and executive-level engagement
  • Lead all aspects of referral agreement execution, including negotiation of pricing, exclusivity terms, commission structures, and partner enablement support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned financial institution relationships, managing onboarding, performance reviews, issue resolution, and communication cadence
  • Collaborate with Evolv marketing to develop co-branded materials, product one-pagers, and in-branch or commercial banker training programs
  • Use the Merchant Application Center (MAC) to track all partner production, merchant application status, and residuals; deliver monthly reporting to executive leadership by the 3rd business day
  • Educate partner institutions on Evolv’s full business services suite, including: Payment processing and ACH Dual pricing solutions Website development and digital advertising (VIV) Payroll and tax services Cloud-based accounting and bookkeeping support
  • Ensure partner institutions understand and communicate the value of Evolv’s bundled offering to help their commercial clients run more profitable and efficient businesses
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure proper residual tracking and partner understanding of revenue mechanics
  • Identify and attend trade shows, association events, and regional conferences to strengthen relationships and build pipeline
  • Stay informed on regulatory issues related to dual pricing, payroll compliance, and data privacy; ensure partner programs remain compliant and well-supported
