About The Position

The Director of Strategic Growth will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and building relationships that support the growth and sustainability of Aviva Family & Children’s Services (Aviva). This position will focus on securing new funding sources, particularly through public funding opportunities and government grants/contracts, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the organization’s outreach to key stakeholders, donors, and clients. The ideal candidate brings experience in public funding, grant writing, government contracting, partnership development, and nonprofit growth strategy, and is skilled at translating community needs into sustainable programs and revenue.

  • Tuberculosis clearance
  • Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance
  • Satisfactory completion of health screening
  • Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Work with program leadership and executive team to assess service needs and identify new contract opportunities.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities for fit, mission and strategic alignment with Senior leadership team.
  • Research, identify, and pursue new public funding opportunities, including federal, state, county, and city contracts and grants.
  • Lead the coordination, development, writing, and submission of public-sector funding applications, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Applications (RFAs), Requests for Statements of Qualifications (RFSQs), Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs), and related grant and contract submissions.
  • Track status of grants, and manage progress of cross functional teams to grant submission and program start
  • Support the contracting and credentialing process with health plans for a portfolio of behavioral health services.
  • Support compliance efforts in reviewing provider contracts and manuals related to commercial health plans for Aviva’s site-based and outpatient programming.
  • Manage post-award requirements, including reporting, compliance coordination, and funder communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies and public funders to support long-term sustainability.
  • Develop and steward strategic partnerships with other nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders.
  • Represent Aviva at industry events, conferences, community meetings and networking events.
  • Cultivate relationships that will enhance Aviva’s visibility, credibility and collaborative opportunities.
  • Work with program staff to understand the needs of the community and the organization's program offerings.
  • Analyze service line utilization, identify opportunities to drive business growth and increase referrals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis for strategic positioning and growth for future program growth among all Aviva programs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing programs or develop new initiatives aligned with Aviva’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Support performance improvement efforts for underperforming programs by identifying funding, partnerships, or redesign strategies.
  • Analyze emerging trends, markets, and populations to inform growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of business development activities, including grants and community outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Executive Leadership on budget development, forecasting, and sustainability planning related to growth initiatives.
  • Maintain organized documentation related to funding pipelines, awards, and reporting timelines.
  • Work closely with the COO, CEO, executive leadership team, and development staff to align business development goals with organizational strategy.
  • Provide regular updates, data, and recommendations to leadership regarding opportunities, risks, and progress.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and cross-departmental initiatives as assigned.
