Long-term disability insurance Who you are: Current RN or LVN licensure by the California Board of Nursing Director of Staff development certification Two years of staff development experience in long-term care required; knowledge of CDPH, RCFE, OSHA, and Title 22 training requirements Current CPR certification Job Summary: The Director of Staff Development is responsible for the development and implementation of the orientation program and ongoing educational programs for all staff at Casa de las Campanas to meet Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and Casa policy. The Director of Staff Development provides specific orientation for Health Center nursing staff. Essential Job Duties Plans, conducts, and evaluates organized orientation and training/education programs required to meet Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements (new hires and annual training) and Casa policy Maintains appropriate documentation of program materials and attendance as required by regulation and Casa policy Conducts one on one new hire orientation for all Health Center nursing staff (RN, LVN, CNA) and provides a copy of orientation documentation to the Human Resources department for staff member’s personnel file In collaboration with other Casa management team members plans annual and monthly staff training/education calendar and posts for staff. Acts as primary system administrator for Casa’s on-line based mandatory training vendor and assigns training to staff, as appropriate In collaboration with other Casa management team members assists with planning, development, and implementation of training/education programs for all departments within Casa to respond to identified problem areas; address service areas; teach new procedures or methods, etc. Conducts one on one in-services with staff, as needed, to address training/education needs and performance issues Researches and recruits instructors for training/education programs who have expertise in the appropriate discipline areas needed to develop and improve the skills of staff. Utilizes available community resources for training/education programs Participates in the development and monitoring of budget for staff orientation and training/education programs Monitors outcome of employee training/education programs for quality assurance In collaboration with DON, the Director of AL/SCR and the Director of RHS, ensures that CNAs/PCAs have annual skills assessments and documents for records In collaboration with Administration and the Director of Human Resources, plans and coordinates training/education programs for Casa’s management team including senior leadership, managers, supervisors, and leads, as appropriate Serves on committees, as assigned (e.g. Infection Control, Safety, Quality Assurance, etc.) Coordinates the activities of and ensures compliance with regulation and Casa policy for students engaged in learning programs within Casa from various learning institutions Ensures that Casa has documentation on all licensed staff (RN, LVN, CNA) upon hire and at renewal to include: a copy of current relevant license, website verification, CPR, First Aid Conducts CPR/First Aid training for Casa staff as required by license, regulation, and/or Casa policy Pay Rate: $92,000 - $100,000 annually All Employees must be able to pass background checks (fitness for duty physical, fingerprinting, employment references) as required by a licensed residential care facility.
