About The Position

The position involves coordinating and participating in the recruiting and hiring of staff, processing employment-related documentation, and managing payroll and employee benefit programs. The role requires positive interaction with residents and families, as well as collaboration with other employees. Responsibilities include planning, conducting, and documenting required Fire/Internal Disasters and External Mass Casualty Drills, maintaining a professional appearance, and fostering enthusiasm and cooperative relationships among staff. The position also involves utilizing information from various surveys and evaluations to identify educational needs, organizing in-service education programs, and maintaining records as required by regulations. Additionally, the role includes supervising staff, providing direct resident/patient care, and ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • Possession of a valid license from the state to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN or LPN).
  • BSN preferred.
  • One (1) year experience providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility.
  • One (1) year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing.
  • Two (2) years or more experience preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Current Registered Nursing License (RN) or LVN/LPN License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
  • Must maintain all required continuing education/licensing.
  • Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in the recruiting and hiring of staff.
  • Process employment-related documentation.
  • Manage payroll and employee benefit programs.
  • Plan, conduct, and document Fire/Internal Disasters and External Mass Casualty Drills.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Generate enthusiasm and develop cooperative relationships with employees.
  • Utilize information from surveys and evaluations to identify education needs.
  • Organize in-service education programs for staff.
  • Prepare annual in-service schedule and monthly in-service calendar.
  • Maintain records of in-services as required by regulations.
  • Plan and conduct meaningful in-service education programs.
  • Make rounds and observe delivery of patient care.
  • Coordinate infection control surveillance program.
  • Supervise staff and assist with disciplinary measures.
  • Complete forms required by the Department of Health.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies.
  • Provide direct resident/patient care.
  • Maintain employee/resident/patient confidentiality.
