About The Position

Long Island University is a national teaching and research institution with an R2 Carnegie Classification. The Director for Sponsored Projects is responsible for managing the operations of the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), covering pre- and post-award activities and ensuring compliance with federal and other pertinent regulations related to sponsored research and grant awards. As the University's authorized organizational representative (AOR), the Director is tasked with maintaining current and comprehensive policies and procedures within OSP to facilitate efficient administration of sponsored projects. The OSP is a pivotal entity essential for advancing Long Island University's research objectives. The ideal candidate will work with and maintain collaborative relationships with Academic Affairs, colleges, business and finance departments, as well as other campus units. By fostering collaboration across these areas, the OSP can establish a strong foundation to facilitate and enhance the growth of sponsored project awards at Long Island University.
