The Director of Specialty Services is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing various programs and services that integrate into, support, or enhance the care delivered in health centers. This position encompasses oversight of the Pathways program, which includes homeward bound services, nursing homes, and palliative care, as well as the behavioral health service line and contracted specialty services. The Director is expected to uphold the Network's mission, vision, and core values by providing exceptional service, ensuring operational efficiencies, and meeting high-quality standards in patient care. In this role, the Director will collaborate closely with Operations and Medical Leaders to address day-to-day challenges, co-manage operational performance, and implement strategic and value-based care objectives. Strong collaboration across operational, population health, and medical leaders is essential to the success of the position. The Director will direct designated programs and services against established metrics that include quality, efficiency, and customer service for both patients and internal stakeholders. The Director will also be responsible for creating accountable role metrics within the team, continually evaluating performance against these metrics to enhance overall service delivery. This includes providing day-to-day oversight and direction to leaders, setting priorities, and developing skills within the team to empower them. Hiring and retaining talent committed to the organization's core values is crucial, as is instilling these values and holding team members accountable through recognition, performance reviews, and coaching sessions. Additionally, the Director will lead, develop, and manage specialty provider contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and alignment of worked hours with payroll. Regular communication with partners is necessary to address scheduling, operations, care provision, medical records, insurance, and billing issues. The Director will also work with compliance, finance, and strategy teams to ensure that specialty services are delivered in accordance with state, federal, and grant regulations, while assessing the need for gap coverage and appropriate billing practices. The role requires continuous monitoring of patient satisfaction, responding promptly to feedback, and ensuring that actions taken improve the patient experience. The Director will identify areas needing improvement and engage the leadership team in brainstorming and developing innovative solutions. Compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal requirements is a must, as is facilitating the build-out of the Pathways program to include various care services. Regular performance reviews and comprehensive reporting on metrics will be part of the Director's responsibilities, along with budget management and team engagement initiatives.
