About The Position

Requirements

  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification with an endorsement in special education.
  • Master's Degree or higher in special education, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • Administrative certification required.
  • Experience in Special Education and Section 504 strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services in ensuring compliance with educational policies and regulations.
  • Consult with staff, parents, and private agencies regarding students with disabilities and available programs.
  • Act as a resource for parents and school buildings on special education and Section 504 policies.
  • Assist in program planning and development for special education and Section 504 services.
  • Supervise consultants and departmental staff as directed by the Assistant Superintendent.
  • Assist in the development and adaptation of curriculum for specialized services.
  • Foster collaborative relationships between departments and building administrators.
  • Serve as a liaison between public schools and private agencies.
  • Attend parent meetings requiring special education or 504 administrative support.
  • Promote high student achievement for all students.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality professional development for staff.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the special education and 504 budget.
  • Prepare reports as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Monitor staff caseloads and student progress.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of special services personnel.
