About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an experienced Director to drive key initiatives in DDoS protection and Network Security. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing strategy, leading design efforts, delivering solutions, and ensuring operational excellence for OCI’s security infrastructure—protecting Oracle and its cloud customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in technology management, with at least 5 years leading teams responsible for large-scale or critical service operations.
• Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, resource management, and performance monitoring in a complex technical environment.
• Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent and leaders.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Proven expertise in networking, network security, cloud infrastructure operations, and distributed system design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the vision and roadmap for OCI's DDoS and network security initiatives, consistently aligning with organizational goals to provide secure, robust, and scalable cloud services.
• Lead high-performing software engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software development projects—from design through deployment and operations.
• Set and monitor clear, measurable goals for individuals and teams to ensure ongoing alignment and accountability with OCI’s objectives.
• Partner closely with product managers, operations, and leadership stakeholders to deliver secure, high-availability services and to address evolving security threats.
• Guide technical direction and innovation in distributed systems, network security, network operating systems, and cloud technologies.
• Ensure the performance, availability, and resilience of security infrastructure, prioritizing protection against DDoS attacks and other network threats.
