About The Position
Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker values, is seeking a Director of Social Services to oversee and guide the direction of the Social Services department. This role is crucial in providing professional social work services to all residents throughout the continuum of care at Foxdale Village. The Director will be responsible for managing a team that includes a Social Worker, Clinical Liaison, and Transportation Assistant, ensuring that all residents receive the necessary support and advocacy they need during their stay. The Director of Social Services will work at least forty hours a week and must be available to meet with employees across various shifts. This position requires reliable on-site attendance and the ability to respond to urgent situations as they arise. The Director will advocate for person-centered care, facilitating smooth admission and discharge processes, and empowering residents to maintain their independence as long as possible. Establishing trusting relationships with residents and acting as the Grievance Official are key responsibilities, as is working collaboratively with families and other departments to ensure effective communication and care coordination. In addition to resident care, the Director will manage the Social Services department's performance, develop the annual budget, and maintain departmental policies and procedures. The role also involves completing assessments, documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The Director will play a vital role in supporting residents and their families through various challenges, including end-of-life planning and memorial services, while ensuring that the Social Services department operates efficiently and effectively.
