The Director of Site Development & Success will lead the successful launch and ongoing support of microschools across the Indiana Microschool Collaborative (IMC) network. This role ensures that new sites open on time, meet all facility and compliance requirements, and are designed in partnership with families and communities to reflect their unique strengths and needs. The Director will work closely with founders and educators to create schools that embody IMC's promises of joy, connection, growth, and success, while building systems that support long-term sustainability and student-centered learning. This position is primarily remote but requires regular travel to microschool sites across Indiana to support launch readiness, coaching, and ongoing success. The Director will also participate in recurring virtual and in-person meetings with founders, staff, and partners to ensure coordination and continuous improvement across the network.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of new microschool launches, ensuring all milestones (facility approval, staffing, enrollment, compliance) are met.
  • Coordinate all facility-related requirements, including inspections, approvals, safety standards, and preparation of flexible, student-friendly learning environments.
  • Support founders and families in co-designing spaces, rituals, and schedules that reflect their community's vision for learning.
  • Coach new leaders through readiness and launch phases.
  • Partner with local authorities, facility partners, and community organizations to ensure compliance and smooth openings.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and partners to hire and onboard founding staff.
  • Work with partners and educators to ensure curriculum, instructional design, and learning systems are fully developed before the fall launch.
  • Lead summer readiness sessions to align new teams to IMC's promises and instructional model.
  • Support microschools to stay aligned with IMC's core design principles while adapting authentically to their local context.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to site leaders and educators.
  • Ensure essential IMC systems (e.g., SIS, badge/proficiency tracking, reporting) are implemented consistently, while allowing for local flexibility.
  • Establish and oversee continuous feedback loops with families, students, and staff.
  • Promote shared culture-building across sites through exhibitions, showcases, and IMC-wide student experiences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, educators, and community partners to ensure a smooth site development process.
  • Serve as a liaison between new sites and IMC's central team, ensuring transparent communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to share stories of school openings, growth, and community impact.
  • Work with the IMC/EH operations team to ensure smooth implementation of shared services (payroll, HR, compliance, data).
  • Support site leaders in budgeting, resource management, and securing startup capital.
  • Help develop scalable, replicable processes that support both short-term launches and long-term growth across the network.
  • Proven experience in school, district, or charter leadership, school/site launch, or program development.
  • Strong knowledge of school operations, including facility readiness, compliance requirements, and public/charter accountability structures.
  • Deep commitment to student-centered, community-designed, and joyful learning environments.
  • Familiarity with the current innovation landscape in education, including models such as microschools, competency-based learning, and personalized learning.
  • Passion for measuring and improving success through multiple forms of evidence, including academic performance, student and family feedback, and broader indicators of growth and belonging.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple complex initiatives while keeping people and relationships at the center of the work.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with families, educators, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships, provide outstanding customer service, and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • A committed learner who seeks new ideas, reflects on feedback, and models continuous growth.
  • Degree or licensure in school leadership, education administration, or a related field preferred.
