The Director of Security at Rivers Casino Portsmouth is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security policies and programs to ensure the physical safety of the casino's guests, employees, property, and assets. This role is crucial in complying with the Virginia Lottery Gaming Control Board security requirements and the casino's internal controls. The Director will support the day-to-day management of the Security and Valet operations, ensuring that these operations foster an excellent guest experience, maintain good client relations, and promote a professional and courteous image. Additionally, the Director will play a key role in creating and implementing a successful staging plan that utilizes all aspects of the location's layout to maximize parking capacity. In this position, the Director of Security will report directly to the VP of Operations regarding policy, purpose, responsibilities, authority, and administrative matters. The Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Security and Valet Department, continually monitoring staffing to ensure adequate coverage for all anticipated business requirements and compliance with departmental minimum staffing submissions. The role involves developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to protect all company assets and ensure the safety and welfare of guests and team members. The Director will also be responsible for managing departmental budgets and ensuring the physical safety of individuals and the safeguarding of assets against illegal activities. The Director will collaborate with the human resources department to design, implement, and enforce a system for issuing access badges and temporary access credentials. They will be responsible for recording any unusual incidents within the licensed facility and for identifying and notifying supervisors of any individuals requiring exclusion or ejection from the facility. The Director must maintain communication with the Virginia State Police upon detecting any illegal activities or individuals possessing weapons. They will also keep abreast of crime trends and collaborate with local law enforcement to ensure a safe environment. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage internal investigations effectively.
