About The Position

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans through various channels including direct sales, marketing, e-commerce, public relations, and community partnerships. This role involves interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates to ensure they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values. The Director will utilize internal and external resources and data to create strategic plans that incorporate all business segments, understand sales and business processes, support corporate and hotel goals, and enhance customer value. The position requires identifying customer business requirements and crafting offers that increase revenue share for the hotel. The Director will monitor the sales team's achievement of objectives and take corrective actions as necessary, achieve annual hotel revenue goals, maintain relationships with key accounts, negotiate terms and conditions, prepare and maintain an annual marketing plan, and accept leadership responsibilities by modeling proper selling techniques and effective development of others. The role also includes developing effective presentations and traveling locally to promote the hotel and review competition, while following sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • Additional/advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, and communications is a plus.
  • Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope required.
  • Operations experience preferred.
  • Public relations and community marketing experience required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi, and access database tools.
