The Director of Sales – Hardware / Co‑Op Channel holds full leadership responsibility for Chervon’s U.S. Hardware Co‑Op business, encompassing key accounts such as Ace Hardware, Orgill, and Do‑it Best. This senior leadership role is accountable for overall channel strategy, revenue growth, and profitability, providing executive leadership to the Territory Sales Manager team and Key Account Managers for EGO Outdoor Power Equipment and SKIL Power Tools. The Director is tasked with developing and executing strategic and operating plans, driving accurate channel forecasting, and ensuring sales execution aligns with corporate objectives. The position requires close collaboration with global back‑end teams in Nanjing, China, and cross‑functional North American teams including Brand, Product Management, Service, Channel Management, Marketing, Finance, and Senior Leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead Chervon’s U.S. Hardware Co‑Op business, including key accounts such as Ace Hardware, Orgill, Do‑it Best, and other strategic partners.
  • Own overall channel strategy, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Provide executive leadership to the Territory Sales Manager team and Key Account Managers selling EGO Outdoor Power Equipment and SKIL Power Tools.
  • Develop and execute strategic and operating plans.
  • Drive accurate channel forecasting.
  • Ensure alignment between sales execution and corporate objectives.
  • Partner closely with global back‑end teams in Nanjing, China, as well as cross‑functional North American teams including Brand, Product Management, Service, Channel Management, Marketing, Finance, and Senior Leadership.
  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management for a team of Territory Sales Managers.
  • Ensure the team delivers sustainable, profitable growth through disciplined execution, effective retailer partnerships, and consistent sales processes.
  • Hire, develop, and retain high‑performing Territory Sales Managers.
  • Set clear performance expectations and sales objectives aligned to channel strategy.
  • Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profit targets.
  • Oversee regional execution with retailers, buying groups, and multi-store hardware customers.
  • Ensure consistent sales processes related to prospecting, conversions, training, merchandising, and service.
  • Provide coaching, field support, and performance feedback to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
  • Promote efficient territory management, travel planning, and cost control.
  • Represent the organization at national, regional, and channel trade shows and key industry events.
  • Work in close partnership with the Key Account Managers to develop and execute long‑term growth strategies for national and cooperative hardware accounts.
  • Ensure account strategies are aligned across Residential, Commercial and E‑Commerce channels, with a strong focus on long‑term revenue, margin, and brand sustainability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies in collaboration with the VP of Sales.
  • Lead product line reviews, new product launches, and assortment optimization initiatives.
  • Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key account decision makers.
  • Negotiate programs, promotions, and initiatives with major co‑op partners (e.g., Ace, Orgill, Do‑it Best).
  • Drive alignment across merchandising, branding, marketing, supply chain, operations, product development, and finance.
  • Ensure flawless execution of store support, merchandising, and field‑level programs.
  • Own Hardware Channel P&L in coordination with supporting functions.
  • Develop annual strategic plans and long‑range growth initiatives for key accounts.
  • Create, manage, and forecast channel and brand budgets.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular analysis of sell‑in, wholesale, POS, inventory, and event performance.
  • Analyze metrics and insights to refine strategy, investments, and execution plans.
  • Lead and participate in internal sales meetings, reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Deliver clear, data‑driven reporting aligned to key performance indicators.
  • Drive profitable growth while ensuring alignment with corporate goals and brand strategy.
