About The Position

The Director of Sales at ASM Global's NRG Park in Houston, Texas, is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing sales strategies to promote the facility and its events. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience in convention, hotel, trade show, or meeting room sales, and supervising a sales force.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales plans and programs to ensure growth and expansion of events, services, and revenue.
  • Respond to event inquiries/RFPs and assign appropriate Sales Manager/Coordinator for follow-up.
  • Lead and mentor a sales team focused on driving revenue through venue reservations.
  • Track individual and team performance against sales goals using data analytics.
  • Handle select accounts for booking and assist Sales Managers with major events.
  • Assist Sales Managers in negotiations with event clients.
  • Supervise all employees in the Sales Department.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings to review accounts and discuss sales issues.
  • Establish reasonable sales goals for Sales Managers and Sales Coordinators.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Public Relations on the annual marketing plan.
  • Work closely with the Director of Event Services for seamless event coordination.
  • Research and analyze market opportunities and competitive activity.
  • Develop and recommend pricing strategies for consistent revenue growth.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on sales revenue projections and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare monthly reports to the Sr. Assistant General Manager.
  • Prepare annual event and operations budget for the department.
  • Retain good working relationships with the Convention and Visitor Bureau.
  • Network within the market to build promotional partnerships.
  • Participate in hospitality community and industry-related associations.
  • Represent NRG Park on the Board of Directors of the Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Houston.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients post-contract.
