About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Sales, Government Legal S&L, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering the sales strategy within the Government sector, with a particular focus on the State and Local markets. This position demands a strategic leader who can drive new acquisition sales and foster the growth of existing relationships. The Director will lead a team of high performing Regional Managers and their respective sales teams, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and the expansion of market presence. Location: will consider remote US based candidates, preference for candidates that reside in MN or in DC.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in sales in the Government sector.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in sales leadership, particularly within the Government sector.
  • Strong coaching mindset and commitment to talent development; communicates with transparency and radical candor.
  • Excellent communication skills including: written, verbal, active listening and keeping the team up to date on important matters.
  • Outstanding end-customer relationship skills.
  • Skilled in sales processes and methodology.
  • Agile in changing environments with ability to effectively lead teams through change and creatively problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of high performing Regional Managers and their sales teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and articulate a strategic vision for the team that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
  • Focus on expanding Government sales within the State and Local markets.
  • Emphasize new acquisition sales and cross sales while nurturing and growing existing client relationships.
  • Coach the Regional Managers to enhance their leadership capabilities and sales effectiveness.
  • Build and implement comprehensive coaching programs tailored to the needs of the sales team.
  • Drive performance management and establish high standards among the team to ensure consistent achievement of sales goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and strategies for improvement.
  • Consult on the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive market growth and achieve revenue targets.
