The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for managing sales and business operations within their assigned regional territory. The DOS manages a team of Regional Sales Managers, each of which has sales and support responsibility for their assigned geographical territory.

  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals.
  • Ensure that both top-line objectives and expense budget objectives are managed and met.
  • Work directly with the Vice President of Sales to establish strategies, tactics, and go-to-market plans for sales for the entire company.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with direct reports and work with other departments to ensure overall company success.
  • Develop, maintain and improve business relations with our customers.
  • Keep leadership informed by preparing, reviewing, and submitting activity regional reports, pipeline reports, and regional analyses.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Observe and adhere to DMP Data Classification Standards.
  • Conduct daily business and represent DMP following published company Mission & Values and in compliance with all company policies and departmental guidelines.
  • Sales executive with ten or more years of sales and territory management experience and at least two years working in a sales staff management capacity.
  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively via air and automobile.
  • Self-motivated; capable of working without direct supervision.
  • Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
