About The Position

The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump has an exceptional career opportunity for a qualified, dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to oversee our sales function. The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is a flagship property of Shamin Hotels, Central Virginia's largest hotel management company. We have tripled in size to 78 full- and select-service hotels over the past ten years and own and operate hotels under the Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, InterContinental and Choice flags.. The hotel is an easy sell for regional groups and events and a favorite with planners of business meetings, regional association gatherings and lodging for regional sporting events.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all group, leisure, catering, and banquet sales activities to maximize revenue.
  • Motivate others to find new business and achieve success by exceeding goals.
  • Present, negotiate, convince, sell and influence sophisticated clients, other managerial personnel, and hotel guests.
  • Prepare and implement annual sales plans, monthly sales reports, annual goals and sales and marketing budgets.
  • Develop rates, group ceilings, and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
  • Direct all solicitation and promotional activities.
  • Actively participates in sales presentations, property tours, and customer meetings.
  • Conduct various meetings such as staff, daily business review and revenue management.
  • Administer sales training programs and be expert in brand systems.
  • Implement policies and procedures for the Sales Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services provided.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
