About The Position

Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) The Westin Tampa Bay – Tampa, FL Full-Service Branded Hotel | Pyramid Global Hospitality Position Overview The Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) is responsible for leading the overall sales and marketing strategy for The Westin Tampa Bay. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working in close partnership with Pyramid Global Hospitality’s regional sales, revenue, and marketing leaders, this role drives topline performance across all revenue streams, including group, transient, corporate, catering, and leisure segments. A full renovation now complete, the hotel is beautifully positioned and needs a strong leader to oversee the team. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role on the Executive Committee, balancing strategic planning with direct selling and team leadership. The DOSM will position the hotel for success in the competitive Tampa Bay market while strengthening brand presence, market share, and long-term account relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years in a senior sales leadership role (DOSM or DOS) at a full-service or lifestyle-branded hotel.
  • Proven success driving group, corporate, and catering revenues in competitive urban or resort-adjacent markets; Florida or Southeast market experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on, results-driven leader with a strong background in direct selling and strategic account development.
  • Proficiency in hotel sales systems (Marriott CI/TY required), with working knowledge of PMS and RMS platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior-level stakeholders.
  • High-energy, entrepreneurial professional who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all sales and marketing efforts for the hotel, with a strong focus on group, corporate transient, catering, and leisure demand.
  • Develop and execute an annual Sales & Marketing Business Plan aligned with hotel revenue goals, brand initiatives, and ownership objectives.
  • Actively solicit new business through prospecting, inbound and outbound sales efforts, site inspections, client entertainment, tradeshows, and community engagement.
  • Maintain, grow, and strategically manage key accounts across corporate, association, SMERF, and leisure segments.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to implement effective pricing, yield, and market-mix strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the sales and marketing team, setting clear performance expectations and holding the team accountable to results.
  • Oversee brand-aligned marketing initiatives, including digital presence, collateral, promotions, and local partnerships.
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the Tampa Bay community, including local corporations, destination marketing organizations, airport-related businesses, and area attractions.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate forecasting, reporting, and analysis to ownership, the General Manager, and corporate leadership.
  • Serve as an active member of the Executive Committee, contributing to overall hotel strategy, culture, and operational success.
