About The Position
The Director of Sales & Estimating is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for driving sales growth and managing the estimating process for our manufacturing operations. This position requires a strategic thinker who can develop new sales opportunities while effectively managing both inside and outside sales personnel. The Director will be tasked with reviewing and developing quotation proposals, drafting estimates based on customer requests, and creating preliminary mold designs and assembly concepts. A key aspect of this role is to work directly with customers to understand their expectations and ensure that our offerings align with their needs. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Director will oversee inventory supplier management activities, which include record keeping, pricing, purchasing, and ensuring the quality of goods and services. This role also involves maintaining and adhering to departmental budgets, providing sales and estimating analysis, and generating forecast and trend reports for management. The Director will identify target customers, create strategies to capture business, and develop new sales opportunities while ensuring timely delivery of services and products to clients. The position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 40% of the work week as needed. The Director will also be responsible for reporting on time delivery concerns to the President and ensuring that all quotes are completed promptly. This role includes consulting with clients and vendors to discuss estimates, resolve issues, and provide information regarding the quotation process. The Director will also perform required quote update activities based on engineering changes and customer requests, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
