About The Position

The Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) is the commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and brand visibility for Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa. This role works closely with the Remington Hospitality Commercial Strategy team to direct all sales, marketing, and distribution strategies—overseeing brand management, digital marketing, PR, social media, partnerships, revenue strategy alignment, and group/leisure sales performance. DOSM leads the overall commercial strategy in collaboration with management company commercial strategy leads, with a dual focus: 1. Sales Leadership: Targeting luxury leisure, destination weddings, social groups, boutique retreats, and experiential travelers across Mexico, the U.S., and global markets. 2. Marketing Leadership: Elevating the Mas Olas brand through innovative digital marketing, content creation, strategic partnerships, and PR that resonates with affluent travelers.  This role collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Revenue, F&B, Spa, Experiences, and Operations to deliver integrated campaigns that drive profitability and elevate the resort’s presence in core markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of marketing and sales leadership experience, in luxury hospitality or highend lifestyle brands.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S., Mexico, and international travel markets.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Proven success managing teams and directing agencies or external partners.
  • Strong proficiency in digital strategy, luxury brand storytelling, and sales planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with staff while upholding confidentiality for both employees and guests.
  • Ability to participate in and lead departmental and hotel team meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share across luxury leisure, weddings, social events, and group/retreat segments.
  • Lead business development efforts including sales missions, trade shows, industry networking, and travel advisor engagement.
  • Build relationships with luxury consortia, wholesalers, FIT partners, wedding planners, and high end travel agencies.
  • Oversee sales processes including prospecting, contracting, group servicing, and account management.
  • Guide pricing strategies, packages, promotions, and group rate structures in collaboration with Revenue Management.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and long term commercial planning.
  • Ensure best class execution for on property events and contracted groups.
  • Create and execute an effective outside sales program to attract new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the internal servicing of groups to ensure seamless execution of contracted sales.
  • Collaborate with the hotel management team and the General Manager to align sales efforts with overall property objectives.
  • Train all sales and marketing staff, holding them accountable for actionable results and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government tourism boards, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), and other public sector bodies to drive inbound travel.
  • Collaborate with national and regional tourism authorities to create joint marketing initiatives and secure funding or incentives.
  • Represent the property at regional travel and tourism trade shows, fostering partnerships with tour operators, travel agencies, and media.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for co-branded campaigns with government entities to boost visibility in key markets.
  • Oversee participation in destination marketing campaigns, familiarization (FAM) trips, and industry events to showcase the property.
  • Develop the annual marketing plan aligned with commercial goals and brand vision.
  • Protect and evolve the resort’s brand identity across all creative, digital, and guest facing touchpoints.
  • Oversee creative production including photography, video, collateral, and digital assets.
  • Develop compelling narratives that express the property’s design, wellness, culinary, and experiential identity.
  • Collaborates with IHG and Kimpton brand representatives for heightened resort visibility in branded marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee digital channels including the website, SEO/SEM, CRM, email campaigns, paid media, and social advertising.
  • Co-manage OTA presence, promotions, and visibility in collaboration with Revenue Management and Digital Marketing.
  • Use performance analytics to improve ROI across all digital platforms.
  • Monitor competitive trends and adjust digital strategies based on market insights.
  • Foster strong relationships with media, influencers, tourism boards, and PR agencies.
  • Secure earned coverage in luxury, lifestyle, and travel publications across Mexico, the U.S., and international markets.
  • Develop press releases, storylines, messaging frameworks, and media briefs.
  • Ensure alignment with IHG/Kimpton brand communication standards.
  • Oversee the resort’s social media vision across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging channels.
  • Lead content planning, storytelling, production and execution—ensuring high quality, authentic, and engaging representation of the property.
  • Track engagement metrics to drive audience growth and improve digital reach.
  • Identify and activate strategic partnerships with luxury brands, experience providers, and cultural organizations.
  • Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, and community activities.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and locally driven programming.
  • Partner with Revenue, F&B, Spa, Experiences, and Operations to promote seasonal campaigns, packages, and event programming.
  • Provide commercial insights to inform leadership decisions.
  • Ensure integrated execution of all guest, group, and retail experiences that impact revenue.
  • Develop and manage the marketing and sales budget.
  • Track KPIs, segment performance, conversion rates, and campaign outcomes.
  • Prepare and present regular commercial performance reports to leadership.
