The Director of SaaS will lead a global team of SaaS Business Development Managers who act as subject matter experts for our SaaS solutions. This role is central to accelerating our SaaS growth and transformation, with primary focus on Windchill+. Reporting to the VP of SaaS and Industry Solutions, the Director of SaaS owns day-to-day leadership, execution, and operational excellence for the SaaS BDM organization. This leader will build scalable programs, drive consistent global execution, and work cross-functionally to ensure tight alignment across Sales, Product, Services, Partners, and Enablement. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, customer-centric leader and creative problem solver—able to navigate ambiguity, design pragmatic solutions, and influence across the organization to drive results.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS and cloud businesses, with a proven track record of guiding customers through on-premises to SaaS transformations and clearly articulating the associated business value.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, GTM motions, and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence with and without authority in complex organizations.
  • Strong operational and analytical skills with a bias toward execution and continuous improvement.
  • Creative, solution-oriented problem solver who thrives in ambiguity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to push multiple priorities forward simultaneously.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership (VP/SVP-level) to shape GTM strategy, priorities, and execution.
  • Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Proven experience leading BDM, SME, or overlay sales teams.
  • Experience working globally across regions and market conditions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (BA/BS).

Nice To Haves

  • PLM industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and SaaS architectures (single- and multi-tenant).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of SaaS BDMs serving as solution SMEs.
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and operating rhythms to drive consistency and scale.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, enablement, and ongoing development of the team.
  • Shape and refine SaaS value propositions and messaging in partnership with Product, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Drive execution and continuous improvement of SaaS GTM motions across regions and sales segments.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the field organization to accelerate SaaS adoption and improve execution quality.
  • Continuously evolve processes, engagement models, and tools to increase speed, clarity, and efficiency.
  • Manage global SaaS pipeline and forecasting in partnership with Sales leadership.
  • Track and report key metrics related to pipeline health, deal influence, and GTM effectiveness.
  • Design scalable programs, sales plays, and enablement assets that simplify how sellers position and sell SaaS.
  • Standardize best practices and drive adoption across the global field organization.
  • Partner with Enablement and Marketing to ensure consistent messaging and readiness.
  • Provide strategic deal guidance for high-impact, complex SaaS opportunities.
  • Guide BDMs in creative problem-solving—positioning value, overcoming objections, and aligning solutions to customer outcomes.
  • Serve as a SaaS evangelist internally and externally, influencing executive stakeholders, customers, and partners.
