About The Position

Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. For over 30 years, Glen Oaks Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care, and our staff is dedicated to researching the latest treatment approaches and applying this to our overall treatment philosophy. The Director of Risk Management has a broad responsibility to protect the hospital’s assets from loss, coordinate the facility’s Infection Control Program as well as facilitating the education of facility staff. The Director of Risk Management is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of TJC, other regulatory agencies, and the UHS T.E.R.M© Program. The Infection Control Nurse (ICN) duties assume direct responsibility for infection surveillance, infection control reporting, and provision of infection control technical support and education for the facility staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, or related health field required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting.
  • Current Texas State Registered Nurse licensure.
  • CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications.
  • A strong knowledge of JOINT COMMISSION, TDSHS, CMS standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
  • A thorough knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease, TJC, Medicare, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Trained HWC, Verbal De-Escalation and CPR.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Member of Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
