The Director of Revenue Cycle provides coordination and direction for business office staff to ensure effective revenue cycle management. This role involves establishing departmental budgets, creating metrics for management, determining work procedures, and monitoring daily work to meet targeted metrics. The Director will communicate with staff regarding goals and objectives, assign duties, and ensure compliance with billing and collection laws. Responsibilities also include maintaining departmental reports, analyzing financial data, and implementing financial policies related to receivables.

  • Establish departmental budget with specific benchmarks and targets.
  • Create metrics for effective management.
  • Determine work procedures/processes to enhance revenue cycle management.
  • Establish work schedules for business office and support staff.
  • Monitor daily work to ensure targeted metrics are met.
  • Communicate daily with business office staff concerning status of goals and objectives.
  • Assign duties and examine work for accuracy, efficiency, and conformance to policies.
  • Manage personnel in patient access, patient accounts, and central scheduling areas.
  • Maintain current knowledge of billing and collection compliance.
  • Maintain the facility's charge master.
  • Collect statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Review, interpret, and analyze financial and statistical data.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures relating to receivables.
  • Present recommendations regarding costs, changes, and rates.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
  • Cooperate with personnel to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Demonstrate timeliness and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • One year customer service experience required.
  • Three to five years experience in business office and/or revenue cycle management.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.
  • Ability to adjust to change, prioritize duties, and handle stress.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sufficient hearing, vision, and dexterity to perform duties safely.
