About The Position

The Director of Retail Operations is responsible for overseeing all retail operations, ensuring that operational needs such as financial management, staffing, product merchandising, and client expectations are met daily. This role involves coaching department managers, developing training standards, managing inventory and costs, and maintaining compliance with laws and company policies. The Director will also strategize with the General Manager to enhance revenue and operational efficiency while promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Five years of operations management experience with a strong retail background.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with an understanding of team building and development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated financial management, merchandising, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge for office functions.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, supervise, and direct all department managers to meet operational needs.
  • Assist management in developing training standards for various services.
  • Work with the Buyer to track and budget inventory and Cost of Goods (COG).
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and support the General Manager.
  • Oversee all retail operations and document management and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.
  • Strategize with the General Manager on revenue opportunities and cost minimization.
  • Engage with Department Managers to ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Drive operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization's mission.
  • Audit Worker Compensation Compliance and promote sustainability efforts.
  • Ensure unit publications are compliant with company guidelines.
  • Support community engagement and hiring efforts.
