About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Respiratory Therapy provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services. This role is accountable for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that meets regulatory requirements and aligns with institutional goals and evidence-based practices. The Director fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, drives departmental initiatives, and serves as a primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the role is responsible for fiscal stewardship, workforce development, and continuous improvement efforts that reflect the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist License Issued by the State of Florida
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years’ experience, which must include two (2) years of leadership experience
  • Advanced understanding of respiratory therapy, sleep diagnostics, and pulmonary rehabilitation.

  • Adapt to evolving healthcare trends and regulatory environments.
