About The Position

Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience specifically in Heartful Care for our residents and their families by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule of treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and associates, in the same way we would like to be treated. 2. Accepts responsibility and accountability for management of the community in the executive director's absence. 3. Responsible for managing the health care of all residents including dissemination of information to families and associates. 4. Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and can understand the impact of those decisions. 5. Sets and manages priorities. 6. Accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends. 7. Conducts meetings/trainings as required/requested. 8. Communications are clear, accurate, and timely. 9. Reviews associate applications, checks references, and interviews applicants for the best possible hire. 10. Monitors the work the associates do and how they perform. 11. Coaches/counsels associates in a respectful manner and completes the associate performance evaluations in accordance with established policy. 12. Monitors expenditures weekly to ensure compliance with department budgeted monthly amounts. 13. Schedules associates based upon budgeted FTE's and prepares assignments to ensure efficiency. 14. Provides “hand on” care on an as needed basis to meet the needs of the residents. 15. Performs evaluations on residents to determine level of care and services. 16. Participates in monthly ECC and LNS meeting with corporate director of nursing. 17. Ensures medication orders are accurate on the MORS. 18. Reviews and investigates all incidents reports and recommends appropriate action/follow up to the executive director. 19. Understands and adheres to the ALF regulations pertaining to assisted living health care laws. 20. Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates. 21. Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits always. 22. Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations. 23. Acts as essential personnel especially during emergencies. 24. Wears clean and appropriate dress per established policy always. 25. Understands and complies with HIPAA regulations. 26. Takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions. 27. Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested. 28. Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • knowledge of word processing software, payroll systems, and electronic medical records.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Nursing License and complete core training within six months of employment
