About The Position

The Director of Resident Services will oversee the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) model and work with the on-site Valor on the Fax team to provide support through resident/family advocacy, service coordination, care planning and programming. This position works with other staff members to incorporate person-centered practices with a trauma-informed approach to create a safe environment for residents and community engagement. Valor on the Fax is a 72-unit permanent supportive housing building for persons experiencing homelessness who also have a brain injury or related disability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience managing a program and staff in areas relevant to the position.
  • Ability to present to various boards and committees as required.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel within the Denver metro-area, sometimes after hours and weekends.
  • Experience working with clients encountering trauma, anxiety and depression.
  • Experience with program reporting and evaluation to fulfill grant and contract requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience applying person-centered and culturally competent practices in interactions with clients, co-workers, professionals, and other community members.
  • Knowledge of Colorado health systems, mental health systems, human services, rural communities and systems of care.
  • Can read and interpret documents. Can draft routine reports and correspondence. Can speak effectively before groups.
  • Obtain and maintain ACBIS Certification (training provided by BIAC if needed) within one year.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with PSH and Housing First model.Experience working with people with cognitive disabilities and/or behavioral health challenges.
  • Personal or professional experience working with individuals with brain injury.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work related to PSH and the Housing First Model to ensure high quality resident care. This includes maintaining a strong partnership with the property management team.
  • Assist the Program Manager with meeting requirements of leasing up new residents through application support and tracking referral timelines.
  • Develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures for Resident Services annually.
  • Provide ongoing training to the Valor team on required policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for professional development for the staff and work to create or partner with outside organizations for training.
  • Train new front desk staff on procedures and support current front desk staff with learning changes required by property management.
  • Create, manage, and adjust weekly staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
  • Provide on-call support for crisis-related needs or last-minute shift changes (shared responsibility when the Director is OOTO).
  • Provide oversight and leadership in instances of resident concerns.
  • Work with Property Management to prepare for, and facilitate community meetings.
  • Facilitate monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in meetings with various partners and stakeholders to ensure the success of Valor on the Fax.
  • Assist in the completion of quarterly, mid-year and annual reports required by partners and BIAC.
  • Participate in grant acquisition by providing information about the Valor on the Fax program.
  • Review evaluation findings at regular intervals and audit data collection systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee the Valor annual revenue and expenditure with the Vice President of Operations.
  • Keep an approximate running total of revenue and expenses and provide summaries as requested.
  • Maintain ordering program supplies while staying in budget constraints and seek support from VP of Operations as needed.
  • Code and ensure payment of security invoice weekly.
  • With Accountant, reconcile credit card expenses monthly.
  • With Director of Human Resources recruit, hire, onboard, and retain quality employees.
  • Complete and present employee performance reviews and goal/development check ins.
  • Approve bi-weekly timesheets, PTO requests and all reimbursement.
  • Provide supervision for Supportive Housing Assistants (3.25 FTE).
  • Manage relationships with vendors for security services.
  • Provide co-supervision to the Program Manager- Brain Injury Resource Facilitation position.
