About The Position
Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) Skilled Nursing Facility | Port St. Lucie, FL A well-established Skilled Nursing Facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida is seeking an experienced Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead and oversee all therapy services within the facility. This is a key leadership role focused on clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational oversight of the rehab department. Position Overview The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for managing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services, ensuring high-quality resident outcomes while maintaining compliance with CMS, Medicare, and Florida state regulations.
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) , Occupational Therapist (OT) , or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) (required)
- Active Florida license in good standing
- Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care setting
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in rehabilitation services
- Strong knowledge of Medicare reimbursement , PDPM, and therapy documentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department (PT, OT, SLP)
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations , PDPM guidelines, and facility policies
- Manage therapy staffing, scheduling, productivity, and caseloads
- Monitor clinical quality, documentation accuracy, and therapy outcomes
- Collaborate with the Administrator, DON, MDS Coordinator, and interdisciplinary team
- Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and IDT meetings
- Support survey readiness, audits, and compliance reviews
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of therapy staff
- Track rehab metrics and support efficient utilization of therapy services
