About The Position

The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) at Reliant is responsible for managing and supervising the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs while adhering to the company's fiscal requirements and federal and state regulations. This role involves achieving specific objectives related to patient care, employee relations, customer service, and financial performance through effective leadership and management of staff and resources. The DOR plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, enhancing clinical expertise, and optimizing patient functionality through therapy services.

Requirements

  • Must possess a degree in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy from an accredited school.
  • If a Rehab Tech, must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two years of relevant experience.
  • Must hold a current and active license as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Computer literate and proficient in clinical documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a rehabilitation setting.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs and fiscal requirements.
  • Assign patient scheduling and responsibilities to staff as needed.
  • Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and counsel department team members to improve job performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Reliant Rehabilitation and facility-specific policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and coordinate department functions with other services to promote team effectiveness.
  • Participate in utilization review, quality assurance, and resident care conferences.
  • Responsible for revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the department and implement strategies to achieve them.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of MDS information and billing of services provided.
