About The Position
The work involves responsibility for administering the local recycling program by developing, planning and implementing policies and activities that ensure public participation in recycling in Onondaga County. Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, an employee in this class will recommend policies and standards through research and analysis to secure the collection and processing of mandatory recyclables in the county. Additionally, this position will oversee activities of two county compost sites. The incumbent also monitors and coordinates all recycling public education initiatives in the county. Supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate employees assigned to recycling duties. Does related work as required.
